Dementia Support Programme

DEMENTIA IS A TREATABLE CONDITION, IMPROVING LIFE FOR AFFECTED PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES

The evidence is strong that the same factors that increase the risk of dementia also determine the rate of decline and as described in the book – Increase Your Brainability; reduce the risk and impact of dementia  At present many people are being told “sorry, there is no treatment” by which the clinicians mean no drug treatment whereas the evidence from the Lancet Commission is that people with dementia are in equal, if not greater, need of good hearing, good vision, plenty of challenging interaction and the other factors that reduce risk.

Learning with Experts is developing an online learning programme for affected people and their families working with the excellent support programme of the Alzheimer’s Society
