Live Longer Better obviously meets two of the three priorities set out for the preparation of the NHS Plan because  it shifts the focus from hospitals to communities and it is a policy shift from treatment to prevention. However is also based on the third principle proposed by Lord Darzi, namely a shift from analogue to digital.

Digital exclusion is obviously an important issue and is the focus of a major initiative in partnership with two NHS Health Innovation Networks - the East of England network and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Network . Devon has developed a major project to develop a digital strategy for living longer better, led by the ICB in Partnership with the University of Exeter.

The Lab in S&W Herts will be launching the W:ISH system this year to enable the automatic generation of personalised activity prescriptions, informing individuals of the benefits of activity, both physical and mental, and the opportunities for taking action close to where they live of digitally. This technology is approved by the NHS and links to the NHS App  
Motus VR is a virtual technology system designed to encourage and enable activity even in people who cannot stand.
